My Dad

To the man who taught me
how to shoot a basketball,
to appreciate the French language,
and to remember quotes I loved;

To the man who taught me
never to let the facts get in the way of a good story,
the importance of family,
and to embrace the fun and spontaneity of life;

To the man who instilled in me a love for
New York Times crossword puzzles,
musicals,
and afternoon naps;

To the man who taught me to appreciate
good design and gadgetry,
pilsner beers,
and a good joke;

Happy Fathers’ Day. Je t’aime, Papa.

Pete, Mego and Dad. Summer 2006.
